Dearest BOSCONIANS and EDUCATORS,

I addressed you simply as Bosconians even if you are made up of elementary pupils, high school and college students, manpower trainees and oratorians.

This is because everyone who is formed in Don Bosco’s Preventive way even for a short time is already a Bosconian.

I addressed you simply as Educators even if you are made up of parents, guardians, teachers, administrative staff members, maintenance personnel, etc.
This is because here in Don Bosco everyone forms the youth - not only in class time but especially in the free time, not only through lectures but especially through good examples.

Don Bosco is coming to Cebu in December this year. The Rector Major has decided to bring him to every Salesian house in the whole world because 5 years from now it would be his 200th birthday.

Where is Don Bosco today? Is he in Fr. Rector? No, because he is not in any of us. But we find a little of him in the generous hard work of Fr. Principal. We see his gentle kindness in Bro. Assistant. We observe his love for the Eucharist in a Val. Ed. teacher, his devotion to Mary in a loving parent. In fact we notice a small piece of Don Bosco in every person around us – we portions but not the whole of Don Bosco. If, however, we form one Bosconian family here at school then these bits and pieces of Don Bosco would all come alive together and we could eventually say Don Bosco is born once more in DBTC after 200 years!
